RIGHT TO BEAR BENEFITS

A Right To Bear Membership gives you access to legal assistance and helpful resources when and where you need it. Enjoy the benefits of a service that’s by your side before and after a self-defence incident.

CORE BENEFITS

Criminal Defense Protection

After being forced to use your weapon in self-defense, it is possible you may be charged with a crime you didn’t commit. District attorneys and state prosecutors are instruments of the law, and while you know what you did is necessary, they are always looking for cases where they think they can prove otherwise. Your Right To Bear membership covers 100% of attorney fees for your defense, whether you choose to use one of our partner attorneys or hire your own.

Civil Defence Protection

Whether or not you are tried in criminal court, it is still possible for the person involved in your self-defense incident or their loved ones to sue for civil damages. In the event this happens, your membership will cover 100% of your attorney fees both for the initial civil case and a potential appeal. This benefit applies whether you choose to work with a Right To Bear attorney or hire your own.

24/7/356 Emergency Attorney-Answered Hotline

A self-defense incident could happen at any moment, so our emergency attorney-answered hotline is available whenever you need help. In the event of a self-defense act, our legal team will be standing by for your questions and to provide helpful advice such as how to speak with investigators, what to do if you’re arrested, and more; all answered by a real attorney. Get the help you need, when you need it with your Right To Bear membership.

Red Flag Law Protection

In order to support our members better, Right To Bear has purchased a self-defense liability insurance policy to defend your members against the application of a Red Flag Law. If your weapon has been seized as a result of an Emergency Risk Protection Order (ERPO) or the invocation of a Red Flag Law, your Right To Bear Membership will provide legal fee protection of up to $25,000 toward attorney’s fees and legal cost for defending yourself against actions taken under a Red Flag Law.

Lost Wage Protection

Mandatory legal obligations after a self-defense incident means taking time away from your job and the wages you need to support yourself and your family. To help carry the load, your Right To Bear Membership will partially reimburse you for these lost wages. Through Right To Bear’s purchased self-defence liability insurance policy, members are eligible to receive up to $300 a day for a total payout of $2,500 per incident to help pay bills, take care of your needs and steady your life while dealing with the law.

Expert Witness

Every legal case is different and could require a specialist the courts can trust to help clarify some details of your self-defense incident. A weapons expert may be needed to speak on your firearm, a ballistics expert or medical doctor to verify details, and many more situations just like this. Your Right To Bear membership will pay up to $10,000 to provide one expert witness for your defense.

Firearm Replacement

If your firearm was seized by law enforcement as a result of your self-defense incident, your Right To Bear membership will cover the cost to replace it. No matter what weapon it is or any legal attachments you can prove were a part of the firearm, your membership has you covered.

Psychological Support

No responsible gun owner ever wants to have to actually use their weapon in a self-defense incident. You buy, train with and carry your weapon with the hope it will never be pulled from its holster. If using your weapon becomes necessary, and you need an expert to help you work through the complicated feelings that can come with that, your membership has your back. Attend up to 40 counseling sessions to work through the stress and trauma that can result from an incident.

Negligent Discharge

Negligent Discharge is an unfortunate reality of owning a weapon. A responsible gun owner does everything in their power to avoid a negligent discharge, but sometimes things happen. Your Right To Bear Membership provides legal protection attorney fee coverage as it would for a self-defense incident.
